Bible reading

Amy and I have decided to post every day for a week about what we read in the bible.

I have just started reading through the book of Daniel. Today was the story of the handwriting on the wall found in chapter 5. This story is another great example of the concequences of not giving God the glory (I will post a paper about that tomorrow), and very similar to that of Nebuchadnezzar. Belshazzar, like Nebuchadnezzar his father, became proud and behaved arrogantly. So it was revealed to him, through the interperatation of the handwriting on the wall, that he had been found dificient, and that his kingdom had been divided and given to the Medes and Persians. That night he was slain and the Darius the Mede recieved the kingdom.

  1. Laura,
It is really helpful to write down what you have been studying. I’ve been reading Jim Elliot’s journals, and he did that almost every day. It is really interesting to see all of the ideas and applications he came up with. Keep doing it. I think you will really be blessed by it, and so will the rest of us!
